Touch down in Nairobi and let the adventure begin. You’ll be met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by a Tribal Adventures representative and transferred to your city hotel for the night.
Use this evening to settle in, enjoy a welcome dinner, and get a briefing on the journey ahead. Nairobi is one of Africa’s most vibrant capitals — if you have the energy, the city has plenty to explore.
Overnight: Nairobi hotel (Bed & breakfast only — dinner at leisure).
After breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for your short scheduled flight to Amboseli — you’ll land in under an hour. Your guide will be waiting to take you straight into the park.
Spend the afternoon on your first game drive. Amboseli is pure theatre: enormous elephant families drifting across dusty plains with Kilimanjaro watching over everything. Keep your camera ready.
Sundowners back at camp, dinner under the stars. Welcome to Africa.

Sunrise game drive before breakfast — make the most of your last morning in Meru.
Transfer to the airstrip for your short flight north to Samburu. As the landscape shifts from green to red and the acacia trees thin out, you’ll know you’ve crossed into the real north.
Samburu is arid, dramatic and utterly captivating. Check in, freshen up, and head straight out for an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River.
This is your first chance to spot the Samburu Special Five — keep your eyes open from the moment you leave camp.
Overnight: Elephant Bedroom Camp (Luxury) / Soroi Samburu Lodge (Mid-Luxury).
Morning game drive before breakfast, then pack up and fly north to Laikipia — a completely different world awaits.
The Laikipia Plateau is Kenya’s largest private conservation area and one of the most ecologically diverse landscapes on the continent. Vast, open, and quietly extraordinary.
Afternoon game drive or a gentle introduction walk with your Samburu guide. Settle into camp before sunset.
Overnight: Loisaba Star Beds, Laikipia.
Today you get off the vehicle and into the wild. Join your Samburu guides for a morning walking safari — tracking animals on foot, reading the bush, and moving at a pace that lets you actually take it all in.
Afternoon option: a camelback safari across the plateau. There’s nothing quite like seeing giraffe and African wild dog from the back of a camel.
Keep your eyes peeled for reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, oryx, and if you’re lucky — a black leopard.
Overnight: Loisaba Star Beds, Laikipia.
Morning game drive, then a full day at your own pace — swim, read, relax, or join optional guided activities.
Tonight is the highlight of Laikipia: the Star Beds experience. Your bed rolls out onto an open platform under one of the darkest, most spectacular night skies in East Africa. The Milky Way isn’t just visible — it’s overwhelming.
Overnight: Loisaba Star Beds (open-air star bed platform).
One last morning in Laikipia — a sunrise walk or game drive before transferring to the airstrip.
Fly southwest into the Masai Mara, the crown jewel of Kenya’s safari circuit. Arrival in time for an afternoon game drive across the open savannah.
The Mara needs no introduction. Lions. Leopards. Cheetah. Elephants. Hippos. Buffalo. And between July and October, the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth, The Wildebeest Migration.

Full day game drives — morning and evening. This is the Mara at its best. Your guide knows where the action is, and the action is usually everywhere.
If visiting July–October: position yourselves at the Mara River for a chance to witness a wildebeest river crossing — a wall of animals, crocodiles, dust, and chaos. There’s nothing like it.

Your last full day on safari. Make every drive count.
Morning drive focused on big cat sightings — the Mara has one of the highest lion densities in Africa. Evening drive for sundowners out in the bush, followed by a farewell dinner at camp.
Optional: Maasai village visit for cultural exchange, traditional dances and craft shopping.
Overnight: Mara Ngenche Safari Camp (Luxury) / Mara Serena Safari Lodge (Mid-Luxury).
Early morning game drive one last time — because why not? Then transfer to the Mara airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi.
Depending on your international flight, time in Nairobi for last-minute shopping at the Maasai Market or a visit to the Giraffe Centre.

July – October: Peak season. The Great Migration is in the Mara; Amboseli and Laikipia are dry and the game is superb. Book early — this window fills up fast.
January – February: Short dry season. Excellent game viewing, fewer crowds, and Kilimanjaro often clear. Laikipia’s green season is lush and beautiful.
June: The start of the dry season — fantastic across all three parks with the migration starting its northward push.
April – May: Long rains. Not ideal for game drives but excellent rates, empty camps, and dramatic skies. For the adventurous traveller.

Yes. Most nationalities require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). Apply online at etakenya.go.ke at least 2 weeks before travel. The fee is USD 30 for most nationalities.
Meru is one of Kenya’s least-visited major parks — and that’s exactly the point. You’ll rarely share a sighting with another vehicle. The wildlife is equally impressive to more famous parks, and the atmosphere is completely different. It’s safari as it should be.
The Samburu Special Five — reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich — are northern species not found in Kenya’s southern parks. They’re endemic to the arid north, making Samburu the only place in Kenya to reliably spot all five.
Yes — Ol Pejeta offers guided close-up encounters with Najin and Fatu, the world’s last two northern white rhinos. This is one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences in Africa. Numbers are limited and advance booking is essential.
Nanyuki sits at around 1,900m altitude, so mornings and evenings can be genuinely cool, especially compared to Samburu or Meru. Pack a warm fleece or light jacket — you’ll thank yourself on early-morning drives.
Exceptional. Meru has over 300 species, Samburu over 450, and Ol Pejeta is equally rich. If you’re a birder, let us know and we’ll tailor the guiding accordingly.
Most light aircraft restrict luggage to 15kg (33lbs) in a soft-sided bag only — no rigid suitcases. This is a firm weight limit. All camps have laundry facilities so packing light is easy.
Yes. Game drives are suitable for all ages. Guided walks and rhino encounters are recommended for children aged 10 and above. Let us know in advance and we’ll adjust the pace and activities to suit your family.
The Kenyan Shilling (KES). USD is widely accepted at lodges and for tipping. Carry some cash for smaller purchases. ATMs are available in Nairobi and Nanyuki town.
